Monday 13 September - Sir Sagamore has just been turned out to a small paddock in the next step in his rehabilitation. He certainly looks very well in his coat and condition and is moving around his paddock comfortably. We'll assess him again at the end of the month to see how he's tracking along and will update owners again then.
Thursday 21 September - Sarah Harris from Keysborough Equine reports Sir Sagamore is rehabing really well. She says "he is awesome. Leg is massive but he is really sound! Out in a yard now and looking great." Our vet will reassess him on Friday and we can then look at retirement options if the vet gives the all clear for him to leave the supervision of Sarah.
Wednesday 30 August - Sarah Harris from Keysborough Equine reports Sir Sagamore is going really well! She has taken him off his anti-inflammatories and observes he is walking only slightly lame which is incredible in only two weeks. Sarah reports is going on the Theraplate everyday (which aids him through his rehabilitation) and he is happy in himself and his condition is great.
Friday 18 August - Veterinarian Dr Ian Church re-assessed Sir Sagamore this morning at Flemington.
Monday 14 August - Unfortunately, the injury he sustained in Saturday's race appears to be career ending and we'll turn our attention to his rehabilitation and assessing his retirement options in the coming days. He'll stay at Flemington for the next week or so just to monitor him through that initial rehabilitation phase and in the meantime the FLR team will arrange some options for owners to consider regarding his rehabilitation and likely retirement.
Saturday 12 August - We take Sir Sagamore back to his favourite track tomorrow where he's drawn well first up from a little freshen up. He's had the one jumpout to get his fitness right and he'll take plenty of benefit from the run tomorrow. In a deep race - he should get a lovely run from that barrier - and we expect he'll run well despite lacking a bit of condition.
Monday 14 August - Sir Sagamore will likely be retired and undergo rehabilitation.
