Baltic Amber and her army are enjoying a fantastic ride as the bonny mare won her 2nd race in 4 starts for Mick Huglin ... paying $41 on both occassions!
First Light and Daylight! Baltic Amber (outside) and Littlesnitz fight out an epic finish at Warrnambool on the Heavy 10
The daughter of Choisir is the definition of a mudlark and after blowing her opposition away on a Heavy track in June she repeated the dose at Warrnambool with a barnstorming finish to nut fellow FLR mudlark Littlesnitz in an epic FLR finish.

"That was the most thrilling finish in FLR history" said FLR's Sam Kilkenny who with trainer Mick Huglin are Baltic Amber's biggest fans. "We were telling her owners five months ago that despite a few defeats she was showing plenty in her races and that her day would come"
Well come it has and not just once, but twice, with Baltic Amber paying $41 on both occassions.
"She tries so hard she's a credit to herself and her owners" said trainer Mick Huglin. "She'd been luckless her last two since that first win but given an absolute peach from Benny Allen she showed how brilliant she can be with an almost last to first win yesterday"
The win was Baltic Amber's 3rd from 11 starts as the newly 4-Year-Old began the new season in style. A $65,000 Inglis Premier Yearling purchase she was one of 10 individual winners as 3-Year-Olds from FLR's 11 Inglis purchases that year.
"We carry on a little bit about these now 4-Year-Olds but they are a stellar crop across the board that'll no doubt dominate tomorrow night's FLR Racehorse Of The Year awards!"
She continued a fairytale renaissance under Mick Huglin who now has 4 FLR winners this calendar year with Baltic Amber and Olafsson both now two-time winners. Better yet - none of them have won under $10 - and anyone following the FLR / Mick Huglin team are loving the ride.
Baltic Amber will be given a quiet week after her courageous effort yesterday before Mick looks for another suitable race and while we can't guarantee she'll win again... we can guarantee she won't be paying $41 again when she does ;)
