With a big group of owners on track, Racorza delivered more Christmas joy for #TeamFIRST owners as he romped to an authorative 4-length winner described as scintillating by the race caller and send the Racorza army into a spin

A $65,000 Inglis Classic Yearling purchase, Racorza put the writing on the wall with an eye-catching first-up run. With excuses his next start at Mornington he went around double figure odds at Cranbourne but never looked like getting beat.

A lovely ride from Damien Thornton who seized the moment after Racroza jumped well to cross and lead the field of 1400m. Catching a breather before the bend, Racorza produced a brilliant turn of foot on straightening to surge clear and celebrations began from the Racorza army with some owners even having enough time to locate the phones, switched on the camera and film their Champ cruising to an effortless win.

He became the 7th Ellerton Zahra trained winner for #TeamFIRST this season joining a growing list of stable starts including Smart Coupe, Fallen Empire and Group 1 winner Aristia with rider Damien Thornton having an association with all 7 winners as his star continues to rise.

"It was a brilliant ride from Damien and he's riding in great form and with confidence" said FLR's Tim Wilson.

"He's won twice aboard Smart Coupe this campaign including a big Flemington win and having him ride these horses at trackwork, trials and then races is clearly helping the cause as his ride aboard Racorza was brilliant"

Racorza becomes FLR's 3rd winner with the stallion Helmet from just 3 runners joining reigning FLR Racehorse Of The Year Linguist and the untapped King Kabuto as progeny of Helmet doing a great job for #TeamFIRST owners.

He was also another winner for super strapper Erin Nicholson who seems to have a great affinity with every horse she straps but looking at the photo below its no surprise her horses run so well :)
