#ARISTIAAA DREAMS DO COME TRUE... GROUP 2 GLORY! Bring on the Oaks!

It was a Derby Day to cherish forever for #TeamFLR

GROUP 2 GLORY

ARISTIA
SHINES IN THE WAKEFUL!

Australia's Best Maiden No More!

Aristia delivered the most memorable day for her owners on Saturday when taking out the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes over 2000m in impressive style.

Given an absolute 11/10 ride from jockey Damian Lane and expertly prepared by Mat Ellerton & Simon Zahra, Aristia delivered on the potential we all saw in her to break her maiden in the Group 2 event at start #10 on Derby Day.
It was a win well savoured by her huge cohort of owners on track who celebrated like none other after Aristia crossed the line for a comfortable win in the end, and then onwards well into the night!

The 3yo daughter of Lonhro is now one of the favoured runners for the the $1,000,000 Group 1 Kennedy VRC Oaks over 2500m this Thursday and having pulled up bouncing out of her skin following Saturday's win, her owners again will be in for one hell of a ride come Oaks Day.
The most memorable day... Star filly ARISTIAdelivers the first Stakes Winner for #TeamFLR in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes

Our massive CONGRATULATIONS to all of Aristia's owners, trainers Mat Ellerton & Simon Zahra for their brilliant training performance and having always held the faith in this filly and of course the EZR stable staff including regular track rider Tash Boucher for all the hard work behind the scenes! NOW LET's...

SAVVY OAK
DOES THE TEAM PROUD

Savvy Oak did the whole team immensely proud with his effort to finish an unlucky 7th in Saturday's Group 1 VRC Derby.

After jumping away a bit slow and getting a long way back again, Savvy Oak did a tremendous job to finish as close as he did after finding more trouble getting clear room in the home straight.

Savvy Oak has taken his MASSIVE owner group on a stellar ride this Spring.  Having progressed from a debut win at Echuca in August, to the Group 1 VRC Derby on Saturday five starts later, all in his first racing preparation is an outstanding achievement.

Trainers Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young have done an incredible job with this son of Savabeel (who only turns 3yo on 3oth November) and with so much upside to come, we can't wait for the Autumn!

Aristia
Result: WINNER in the $300,000 Group 2 Wakeful Stakes over 2000m, Flemington - What a win! An absolutely perfect ride by Damian Lane to get her to travel so beautifully in the run and presented at the perfect time.  She stayed on strongly to the line for an easy win.  A picture perfect result.  Bring on the Oaks!

Savvy Oak (NZ)
Result: 7th in the $1,000,000 Group 1 VRC Derby over 2500m, Flemington - Unlucky not to finish much closer! He jumped away a bit slow which had him further back then we would've liked.  He then was tightened for room in the straight but did a great job to finish off where he did. He's done this all in his first preparation and now has it all ahead of him in the autumn.

Black Sail
Result: 3rd in the $60,000 Peninsula Cup BM90 Handicap over 1600m, Mornington - Another good, solid run for a close 3rd from Black Sail on Sunday.  He settled well off a quick pace and gave his challenge in the straight but just didn't reel the leader in before being over-run late from out wide.  He's a bit of a thinker at times but once he puts it all together he's got the ability to knock off a race of this quality.
