#TeamFLR Queensland keep the winners coming with a gutsy second career win from CAPEOS at Beaudesert last Tuesday, thanks to another beautifully rated ride from on fire jockey Dale Smith.

After again being delt another wide draw, Capeos was quite fresh in himself and as a result, jumped sharply out of the gates so Dale used his early speed to drive him forward and take up the running.
He had to do a bit of work to get there but once settled into stride, Dale rated him beautifully to give a nice breather mid-race before asking for a his finishing effort turning for home. He held on gamely to take the win and showed us he’s a horse who should excel over the mile and beyond, just as we expected.
"An excellent win today. Gee he was good considering he was a wee bit fresh today but no excuses for the others eh, he led, he got a good breather mid race and he kicked strongly so he is now starting to show what we have always thought he had, a good level of ability” said trainer Rob Heathcote.
"It was a good, well rated ride from Dale too - I have never doubted this lads ability, he has just taken plenty of time to mature and for the penny to really drop”
The now 4yo lightly raced son of Captain Sonador joins the ongoing list of winners secured from the Magic Millions QTIS March Sale by the FLR team, which includes city winners Alpine Dancer, Love And Rock It, Real Estate plus further winners Vienna Moon, Rebel Saga for Rob Heathcote and stakes performed Black Champagne for Tony McEvoy.
Capeos will now look ahead to the Class 2 1600m at Doomben on Melbourne Cup Day and for a horse that we expect should only continue to improve with more racing, owners look forward to hopefully adding to his winning tally in the near future!
