More one's to watch, Team QLD parade in style at Eagle Farm and NOT A SINGLE DOUBT colts impress

Australia's Best Maiden... not for long!

There was no holding up FLR's star 3yo filly ARISTIA this time at Caulfield on Saturday after Damian Lane steered her to a near perfect result with a close 2nd in the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes!
Stepping straight up from the mile to 2000m for the first time, she put in a brave performance and won't be the Best Maiden in Australia for much longer.
"See you in the Wakeful"

Like father, like son... FLR's Not A Single Doubt x Gold Letter colt (top right) certainly takes after his super sire (top left)!

The Post Race Wrap-Up...

Get the post race low down on our leading Spring contenders!
Smart Coupe
Result: 8th in the 1200m Benchmark 80 Handicap, Moe - An unexpected disappointing result from Smart Coupe on Thursday - she was never comfortable and maybe didn't appreciate being ridden a bit close to the speed but otherwise a bit of a head-scratcher - she's much better than that.

Love And Rock It
Result: 5th in the 1200m Benchmark 70 Handicap, Doomben - Whilst only 5th in the race, wow, what a 5th it was! LARI really smashed the line and a stride or 2 more, he's in the thick end of things. Draws a decent gate he could even have won but a super competitive run and he'll be hard to beat next start.

Result: 2nd in the 2000m Group 3 Ethereal Stakes, Caulfield - A superb effort from Aristia on Saturday who showed her real class and ability for a close 2nd.  She hit the front early at the top of the straight and probably got a bit lost so is bound to improve again at her next go over 2000m - bring on the Group 2 Wakeful on Derby Day!

Scottish Rogue
Result: 8th in the 1050m Benchmark 70 Handicap, Morphettville - A touch disappointing result but the race didn't go to plan.  Run off his feet a bit early after being slow away but we know he's a horse wanting much more ground and will only improve from the hit-out.  He'll now head back to Melbourne to prepare for the 1400m Listed Hilton Stakes at Flemington on Stakes Day.

One's To Watch...

A big Cox Plate week coming up!
What A Shock
What's next: $30,000 1200m Benchmark 70 Handicap, Geelong, this Wednesday 24 October - Looking forward to the return of What A Shock on Wednesday.  He didn't quite capture his best form last preparation but has come back from a break in great order and his jump outs have been pleasing.  Will find the trip a touch short but we'll expect to see him doing his best work late.

Black Sail
What's next: $120,000 1500m Benchmark 84 Handicap, Manikato Stakes Night @ Moonee Valley, this Friday 26 October - Having come through his epic return to the winners stall in great order, Black Sail heads to the Valley on Manikato Stakes night and this looks a nice race for him.  Fingers crossed for a good barrier - he's a horse that improves with more racing!

What's next: $120,000 955m Handicap, Cox Plate Day @ Moonee Valley, this Saturday 27 October - The Champ is back! After a little freshen up, Nasdex kicks off on Cox Plate Day over the 955m sprint - he's trialled very nicely and his record first up over the short trips is very good.

Savvy Oak
What's next: $200,000 2040m Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase, Cox Plate Day @ Moonee Valley, this Saturday 27 October - Last start eye-catcher Savvy Oak steps up to a trip that he should really appreciate.  Has raced well here before albeit from a bad gate so fingers crossed he draws well as he's on the Derby path and is ready to give this a shake.

What's next: $5,000,000 2040m Group 1 Cox Plate, Cox Plate Day @ Moonee Valley, this Saturday 27 October - JUST WINS! Get to the Valley and enjoy history being made!
