#SpringHasSprung 🌸¸ Welcome to FLR's newest addition to the best time of the year, the Weekend Wash-Up!

🔖Scroll down to get some juicy insight into all the best highlights following weekend Spring racing action INCLUDING sire watch, Feature Winners, Social & Owner Highlights and Feedback on key Spring runners - BANG! #TeamFLR

On the left we have VIDDORA, winner of the Group 1 Moir Stakes on Friday night and on the right we have OOHOOD & FIESTA who quinelled Saturday's Group 1 Flight Stakes... what do they all have in common?
All fillies/mares sired by the extraordinary I AM INVINCIBLE!

But that's not it... I AM INVINCIBLE also sired in the space of 24 hours...
  • 2yo Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner CATCH ME plus the runner-up in the Group 3 Breeders Plate COVERT OPS...
  • Group 2 Stock Stakes winner I AM A STAR.
  • And that made it 9.... yes NINE Stakes Winners for I Am Invincible in the first two months of the new season

One word... WOW!  Why wouldn't you want a VINNY in your team?? 👇
FLR's 2yo I Am Invincible filly is turning heads at Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young's stables.

She's one switched on, classy filly and will be aimed at all the Autumn 2yo riches.  Oh....and she's SUPER VOBIS NOMINATED! To find out more - click HERE

SMART as they come!

While FLR's Aristia was only just warming up late in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude on Saturday (#onetowatch), super smart filly SMART MELODY maintained her unbeaten record with a strong victory and of all the opposition, team FLR were quietly pleased to see her do it #respect
WHY?  Because...
  • She's by one of FLR's favourite gun sires SMART MISSILE! (think SMART COUPE, Savvy Belle & Fallen Empire - 100% strike rate!)
  • AND she's bred and raised by the hugely successful Gooree Stud - the same farm that bred and raised FLR's 2yo Magic Millions SMART MISSILE x IRRESISTIBLE CHARM colt! Along with his sire Smart Missile, Desert War, Northern Meteor, Don Eduardo, Prized Icon... just to name a few.
One of the 'magic' bargain buys of the year - FLR's Smart Missile 2yo colt is on his way to Randwick for his Spring campaign with Champion trainers Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott and we'll be living the Magic Millions dream with this SMART youngster!

Never in DOUBT!

Congrats to FLR trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace who produced the super impressive winner of the Group 3 Breeders Plate on Saturday with Not A Single Doubt colt DUBIOUS getting the job done in race record time (pictured top left)!

Also, our congrats to FLR trainer on the rise...Melbourne Cup heroine Michelle Payne whose boutique stable is on absolute FIRE with City Winner Sweet Rockette and Mark The Horse both placing at Group level on Friday night at Moonee Valley!

Did you know?
  • DUBIOUS became Not A Single Doubt's 21st 2yo Stakes Winner and 59th Overall Stakes Winner!
  • FLR's newest recruit, the Not A Single Doubt x Twizzler colt is already catching the eye in work at Ballarat with Michelle Payne (pictured top right, a very similar style of colt to Dubious)
  • In Michelle's words, "He is all power! He ticks all the right boxes for an early running racehorse."
We have NO DOUBT you'll love racing with Michelle & FLR!

ALPINE owners are DANCing on the ceiling after their star 3yo delivers back to back wins at Doomben within 10 days!
Alpine Dancer, Oh what a feeling!
The "Sleeping Giant" is waking! Owners have plenty to be excited about after the Rob Heathcote trained ALPINE DANCER stormed home again at Doomben on Saturday in quick time to take out the 3yo QTIS Handicap over 1615m.

He's now earned a whopping $94,450 from only 5 starts (Thank You QTIS!) and is certainly one exciting horse to follow into the new year!

Result: 7th in the 1400m Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude - Great run from Aristia given the circumstances.  She had to settle last but we liked the way she hit the line.  "She’s slowly peaking and the further in distance we go, the better she’ll get.” Co-Trainer Simon Zahra.

Smart Coupe

Result: 12th in the 1100m Benchmark 90 Mares Handicap - A bit of a forget run on Saturday. Settled well back in the field, off a moderate pace and being tightened for room in the straight, she wasn’t able to threaten. The EZR team have her in great order and with her share of overdue even luck next start, she can bounce back.
Black Sail

Result: 5th in the 1400m Benchmark 70 Handicap - Unfortunately Black Sail was a victim of chasing the speed last Friday where nothing really went our way. He stuck on well still and will be better suited getting up to the mile at his next start.
Alpine Dancer

Result: WINNER in the 1616m 3yo QTIS Handicap - What a win! to see them winning on a Saturday in the city against proven quality horses is impressive enough but the way in which he's gone about it makes it even more exciting. Fast closing sectionals over the mile and he's still doing things wrong.  He's off to the paddock and we can't wait to see him back in the new year!
